Dr. (Adv.) Kanchan Khatana is the Founder and Managing Partner of Kanchan Khatana & Associates. She is a distinguished legal professional, corporate advisor and workplace governance expert with over Two decades of diverse experience spanning legal practice, corporate leadership, employment law, labour relations, corporate governance and strategic business advisory.
Her unique professional journey combines extensive experience in both the corporate and legal domains. Having worked in senior leadership roles across multinational organizations as well as advising clients on complex legal and regulatory matters, she brings a practical understanding of how law, business and people intersect in today’s dynamic business environment.
Over the course of her career, she has held leadership positions at country and Asia-Pacific levels with renowned Multinational organizations. This extensive corporate exposure enables her to provide legal advice that is commercially astute, strategically aligned and operationally practical.
As an Advocate, Dr. Khatana has advised and represented clients across a broad spectrum of matters relating to Corporate Law, Employment Law, Labour Law, Workplace Compliance, Corporate Governance, Employee and Industrial Relations, Mergers & Acquisitions, Strategic Alliances, Regulatory Compliance and Organizational Transformation. Her ability to understand both boardroom priorities and legal complexities allows her to deliver solutions that address not only legal risks but also broader business objectives.
She is widely recognized for her expertise in Employment Law and Labour Law, where she advises organizations on workforce strategy, industrial relations, workplace compliance, employment disputes, disciplinary matters, workforce restructuring and governance frameworks. Her Corporate Law practice encompasses corporate advisory, governance matters, commercial transactions, compliance frameworks and strategic business initiatives.
Dr. Khatana holds a distinguished academic record, including a Doctorate in Law, a Master of Laws (LL.M.), a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with Honours in Human Resources Development, a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. Her multidisciplinary academic background enables her to provide holistic legal and business solutions to clients.
In addition to her legal qualifications, she holds advanced certifications in Project Management and Six Sigma from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Delhi), is a Certified Internal Auditor for ISO 27001 from the British Standards Institution, a Certified Compliance Officer from ICSIL (Government of India PSU), a Certified Psychometric Professional, and is certified in People Capability Maturity Model (PCMM) Level 5 implementation by QAI Global Institute.
Dr. Khatana actively contributes to the legal profession and public policy discourse. She serves as the Vice Chair – Women Empowerment & Studies Section of the Indian National Bar Association (INBA) and is a Distinguished Member of the International Council of Jurists, London, United Kingdom.
